“Geseënd is dié wat rein van hart is, want hulle sal God sien.”
In this Beatitude, Jesus reveals the pathway to divine intimacy: purity of heart. The heart is not merely a vessel of emotion but the center of our being — where motives, desires, and devotion converge. To be pure in heart is to live in undivided loyalty to God, free from deceit and hypocrisy, and wholly yielded to His Spirit.
Reflection
When you understand the love of God, you understand what it means to have a clean heart. The hardened heart resists truth, but the renewed heart reflects it. Purity is not perfection through human effort, but transformation through surrender — the ongoing renewal that flows from repentance and relationship with Christ. The one who allows the Lord to purify the heart begins to see with spiritual eyes, discerning His presence in every moment.
This verse echoes the call of Ezekiel 36:26 — “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you.” It is a promise of restoration, that when the inner life is made clean, the veil between God and man grows thin, and His light becomes visible even amid darkness.
