The pandemic exposed more than a health crisis; it revealed a spiritual battle over ownership of the body. Governments, institutions, and corporations sought to dictate medical choices, reducing men and women to subjects of policy rather than image-bearers of God. Yet Scripture stands in direct contrast: “Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God?” (1 Corinthians 6:19).

To treat the body as property of the state is to defile what God has consecrated. Mandates and coercion during COVID highlighted how quickly liberty is surrendered when fear rules, but also how essential it is for believers to stand firm in faith. Our allegiance is not to systems of control but to the Lord who fashioned us, redeemed us, and indwells us by His Spirit.

This is why resistance in that time was not rebellion—it was obedience. By refusing to compromise the integrity of the body, many bore witness that Christ alone is Lord. These difficult days remind us that freedom rooted in God’s truth is the only true freedom. To yield our bodies to Him, not to coercive powers, is an act of worship and a testimony of faith in an age of deception.
